Balloon flight weather cancellation policy for reserved Tennessee trips
This is the balloon flight weather cancellation policy the office follows, together with the rules that belong to each supplier. The short version: the pilot decides about the weather on the day of the flight, each supplier applies its own refund rules to its part, and the office tells you those rules in writing before you pay anything.
Wind, fog and the pilot's call on the day
Balloons need light wind on the ground and aloft, no rain, no fog and no storms anywhere near. The pilot checks all of it in the hours before the meeting and decides whether to fly; that decision is not open to discussion, and nobody at the office can change it. When a flight is called off for weather, the balloon company offers another flight time or cancels the flight under its own terms. One of the companies charges nothing for a weather cancellation, one keeps its online booking fee when no new date can be found, and the quote states each company's own rule before you accept. Where your stay has a later morning or evening, the office asks the company in advance to keep it open, and the company moves the flight there if it has room.
What happens to the nights
Lodgings are not bound by the weather. Some will move the nights, some will not. The quote says which kind yours is, so that you know before you accept what a called-off flight would mean for the rest of the trip.
Moving or dropping a flight morning yourself
The two balloon companies in the Franklin area ask for three or four days of notice to change or cancel a flight; inside that window they keep part or all of the flight price, one keeps its booking fee in every case, and a flyer who does not come pays in full. The Murfreesboro company's rule comes in the quote. Lodgings set their own notice periods. Send any change to sunrise@tennesseeballoonrides.com or by phone. The office passes it to the supplier the same day if it arrives Thursday through Monday, or on Thursday if it arrives on Tuesday or Wednesday, and confirms the result in writing. Every flight in the catalog falls on a Friday or a Saturday, so a change sent by the Monday before the flight reaches the balloon company inside its notice window.
Nonrefundable pieces, marked first
If any part of a quote cannot be refunded, the quote says so next to that part in plain words, before you accept it and before any supplier takes money.
Refunds and who sends them
A refund comes from the supplier that took the payment, by the method you paid with, on the supplier's schedule. The office follows up with the supplier until the refund arrives.
